"This store has everything I would be interested, plus more. Good variety of items and fair in-store pricing."
"spent all kinds of time helping us get our intercoms working. Thanks guys!"
"Phenomenal service! Cycle gear is the greatest. "
"Entering the store is always nice. I always seem to get a nice warm hello upon entering.
Things go downhill from there.
Selection is...sad. Most items are available in only a few sizes, and always only in one color (usually black)
Every time i have asked for a different size or color i am dismissed by the employee i ask ("whatever on the floor is what we have")
I understand this is often true, but a double check or even just pretending to check would be better than the blow off i keep getting.
That's only if you can find an employee to help. I have stood in different departments for 20 minutes at a time waiting for an employee to finish some project that must be done with their back to the customer only to have them power walk out of the department at full speed once they see me.
Every time I go it seems to get worse and worse. Yesterday i pulled a helmet off the clearance shelf. An AGV carbon (normally a 750 helmet) marked down to 199! What a steal!
After standing in the helmet department for 20 minutes waiting for the sales guy to finish helping someone else, he does the usual and turns and bolts out of the department. I decide to skip checking out the helmet i had come in for and just go with the tremendous deal i had found since i was running late for a dinner. Once i get to the register the guy comments on what a good deal i found. I agree, then after looking it over the guy tells me I must have switched the tags, and he would only be able to give me 10% off retail (making the helmet not 199, but more like 699). At this point I am running late and dont even have time to argue or grab the helmet i had originally come in for. As i turn to leave the employee, no joke, screams after me something about switching tags.
Humiliating and awful experience.
They seem to know they are one of the only motorcycle gear places in town, and like to remind you of it by treating their customers like garbage.
Poor form cycle gear. I dread returning, but options are limited

"I was looking for Revit motorcycle jeans and Cycle Gear in Sacramento had the particular style and size I was looking for. The gear sales guy (sorry forgot your name!) was so pleasant and helpful. He helped me find what I was looking for and explained their generous return policy clearly. I tried the jeans on and proceeded to checkout. The cashier was easy going, applied my military discount and I was was out of there within 30 min. I like this store. They have a large variety of gear in stock and I plan on purchasing with them again in the future. "
"I love your store for the gear. Some of the people there are less than enthusiastic about helping you. But that’s to be expected when you basically monopolize the market on awesome motorcycle gear. I’m not gonna stop going there. I’ll just hold my questions for the most part. "
"Good overall experience with sales team. I spotted a sale on the website but it didn’t reflect what was available at this location, it was online inventory only. But what the company needs is a Mobil App. "
"The folks there are very helpful and go out of their way to help with any questions you might have. "
"I had Roberts help, he was great"
"Great employees very willing to help and knew what they were talking about would go back in the future !"
"Every time that I walk through the door the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable. I love coming and Shopping for my motorcycle Needs at this store. I wouldn’t have it any other way!!"
"The staff is friendly and helpful and the store has a very relaxed vibe. Always fun to look at new riding gear."
"I've been shopping at Cycle Gear for a while, but never this location specifically and never with kids. This store seems much bigger, cleaner, and more put together then the other locations I used to visit. I was also glad to find that they had a decent selection of kids gear (now that our family has a 50 size bike for my boys).
The only real complaint I have is that the selection of kids apparel was limited for smaller / younger kids and the way they were presented made it difficult to get equipment sized to the kids. Example: All of the kids gloves had giant theft monitoring devices right where the openings were and locked onto the palm / wrist of the gloves, making it nearly impossible for a smaller kid to try on the gloves and get a reasonable fit. I'm sure kids equipment sales makes up a very small portion of their overall sales and so setting up an optimal kids area is not a big focus, but it was the main purpose of our trip.
I'm sure I will return again since this store has a good layout and a great selection for adults and bigger kids, but the little kids section / selection probably needs a little work."
"I went in for a rear tire installation. The installation was done correctly. No complaint there. I asked two questions about two products and a question about what type of warranty there is with Cycle Gear. The answer was a very dry and blunt, “nothing“. That’s all the technicians; two of them by the way, had to say. One word, with zero expression, “nothing “. They didn’t even bother to mention that CG has a 30 day return policy. I got that information from the cashier, who by the way was more interested in her private, unrelated to the store’s business, conversation with another cashier. They were discussing what was going on after work. What I noticed in the store is a complete lack of enthusiasm to engage with a customer. When I asked about two other products in the store I got this for answers from each salesperson in each different department - “I haven’t used them, but I don’t think it matters which one you get”. I asked because there was a considerable price difference. The other salesperson in another department told me, “whichever one you want” and then just walked away. None of the sales people appeared to care about the customer, or anything in the store. They all appeared to be totally bored with their jobs. So, my low rating was not because of poor products on the shelf, but it is for the lack of proper training of the staff due in my opinion to poor in store management and their lack of product knowledge and lack of interest in anything except maybe the time clock. They might at least put a smile on to disguise their boredom. Thank god there are two stores in my area. I’ll try the other one hoping for better treatment. "
"I went in looking for a vented jacket and the girl was so helpful I walked out with 2! One for me and one for my husband! "
